Say no more, group travel is the worst! #TravelAddictsTuesday ✈️🗺️
Q5: I have revisited flops in the past, to overwrite my memory with a positive association. There are 3 options for a change:
1. Love it - embrace it for what it is
2. Change it - try out new experience in town
3. Leave it - stay lowkey and put on blacklist for next time

Q3: In 2022, I travelled to Porto for my second Camino hike. The city was hyped as a "hidden gem" - it was awful! A chaotic overrun city with boring sites, huge drinking culture and extremely rude locals. I got harassed everyday and counted the days to finally leave #TravelAddictsTuesday ✈️🗺️
q2: Antwerp, Tallinn, Helsinki, Vienna and Leipzig for me. Each have big city character with a very laid back vibe. Helsinki & Tallinn are down to earth, no grind mentality, Antwerp and Vienna appeal to my cultural and academic side. Can revisit these and never get bored #TravelAddictsTuesday ✈️🗺️
Q1: Interactions with locals is an element for me. I'm introverted so harassment and aggression are always a no (South Europe). I personally seek out experiences which I also do at home, such as cycling or hiking which allow me to get to areas which I may have not seen. #TravelAddictsTuesday ✈️🗺️
Thanks so much for joining, please keep your answers coming in! The next chat will be on Tuesday, 14 Jan. Will let you know the topic closer to the time. For now, keep safe for tonight and have a splendid start to 2025. #TravelAddictsTuesday ✈️🗺️
Lastly, Q5: Would you revisit a place where the vibe was off, and if yes, would you do anything differently to create a positive connection? #TravelAddictsTuesday ✈️🗺️
I agree the way locals treat visitors is a decisive factor. Friendliness towards visitors, communication and generally a mutual acceptance & respect is something I have also encountered on bad trips. I hope your experience with your son has nevertheless been mostly positive #TravelAddictsTuesday
Oops my fault, I thought it would pull this separately via #TravelAddictsTuesday and ✈️🗺️
(aaah I was waiting for the questions on #TravelAddictsTuesday not #TravelAddictsTuesday✈️🗺️
!!).
A1: er. that's a good question. I don't know? People help. If I know someone in a destination. Or if something's happened there that I can relate to or which interests me deeply.
#TravelAddictsTuesday
It’s very simple for us; how people treat our adult son with Downs will make or break a destination. Strange, but some places seem to understand that you just need to acknowledge his presence, and some places it seems like no one gets it. BC yes, Midwest no. Sorry!
Good evening and welcome to tonight's #TravelAddictsTuesday ✈️🗺️ chat. We'll talk about how we relate to travel destinations and what to do if the vibe is off.
Everyone is welcome to join, but please be respectful and don't invalidate other's experiences.
First question coming in a few minutes!
We'll have a quick #TravelAddictsTuesday chat at 7pm CET time tonight. I understand you guys will be preparing for going out tonight by then, but I do hope to see the one or other content creator.
Speak to you later! #TravelEnthusiasts✈️🗺️
Friendly reminder for the up-coming #TravelAddictsTuesday chat on Tuesday, 31st Dec, 7pm CET. The topic is how we relate to travel destinations and what to do if the vibe is off.
See you then!
🧡🧡 Very inspiring and I love that you have such a great friendship that your friend followed up with you. This was not just a positive event for her life but also for you #TravelAddictsTuesday
This is a wonderful story and exactly what travel souvenirs and memorabilia are for. Thank you for sharing it with us #TravelAddictsTuesday
This is a safe space and no judgement will be given. I get why the magnets are popular. Easy to transport and colourful. But yes some designs tend to be quite chaotic and it would cause unrest if I had a wild collection on my fridge #TravelAddictsTuesday
But you got the good quality stuff, worth a trip to the post office! #TravelAddictsTuesday
I am nosey now and hope you don't mind me asking as a fellow ceramics and pottery hoarder, could you share some of your best finds? #TravelAddictsTuesday
These are beautiful, what a collection! @ramblynjazz.bsky.social also brings back food and shares recipes with her loved ones at home #TravelAddictsTuesday
Morooco for sure, the stuff you can get at the bazaars would have going to the post office a few times. Thing of all the lamps, leather poufs or ceramics #TravelAddictsTuesday
Yeah well that is not the point of this chat #TravelAddictsTuesday
I love this! Can you share one of your classics? #TravelAddictsTuesday
The Christmas ornaments are a very popular choice. I approve! #TravelAddictsTuesday
Oh do you have any regrets? Nothing haunts us more than the souvenirs we didn't buy #TravelAddictsTuesday
He sounds like a kind man. How many of the destinations he send you a gift from have you visited? #TravelAddictsTuesday
Hi Helen, Christmas decorations seem to be a very popular travel memorabilia. I take it they are small and easy to transport plus you'll get to remember your trips annually #TravelAddictsTuesday
It depends on the type of trip, I would say that my budget is around €60 but for my mommy I always look for the best gift I can, even if it costs €20 or €30!

A4: Personally, I carefully tuck the most fragile things between clothes. I'm talking about lots and lots of clothes, all rolled up Marie Kondo style! hahaha #traveladdictsTuesday
A3: A friend noticed my Lisbon tram mug and, fascinated by its beauty, asked me for more. Telling her about the miradouros and the magic of that city inspired her.
Two months later, she sent me a photo smiling in front of a yellow tram: "I'm here thanks to you!". #traveladdictsTuesday
