Xi Serpentis - unprocessed image with Moon and Skylight Filter. Xi Serpentis (xi Ser) is a triple star system composed of an inner binary pair, xi Serpentis A (the white giant primary and its close companion, Ab), and a distant third star, xi Serpentis B.

Before the start of the planned observation for tonight, was browsing around the sky atlas and decided to take a look at the #TripleStarSystem #XiSerpentis. #seestar #S50 #space #astronomy #amateur

A deep-sky image showing the sprawling, faintly glowing structure of the Giant Squid Nebula (Ou4) with long, thin, blue-tinted lobes resembling a squid's arms stretching diagonally across the frame. The nebula is immersed in a wider field of reddish hydrogen emission from Sh2-129. Near the center is the bright triple star system HR8119, thought to power the outflow. Countless background stars are scattered across the dark sky.

Stunning telescopic image showcasing the Squid Nebula (Ou4) nestled within the Flying Bat Nebula (Sh2-129) in the Cepheus constellation. The image, a composite of 20 hours of data, reveals the Squid Nebula's distinct bipolar shape and its possible location within Sh2-129, approximately 2,300 light-years away and spanning nearly 50 light-years. The reddish hues represent hydrogen emission from Sh2-129, while the blue-green highlights doubly ionized oxygen in Ou4, potentially an outflow driven by the triple star system HR8119.
