Next up, the #TucsonCouncil will discuss an ordinance prohibiting the use of "city property for civil law enforcement operations."
It is very, very likely to pass as the Council passed a similar non-biding resolution back in January.
And that wraps up Call to the Public. #TucsonCouncil
Residents are angry, frustrated, and are pushing the #TucsonCouncil to stand up to the Trump administration on Iran, data centers and ICE.
But a week before the election, a lot of people are talking about the RTA Next election.
For those of you who want to follow along at home, you can watch the #TucsonCouncil meeting live here on YouTube:

Thanks π to Linda for the shout out tonight for the @tucsonagenda.bsky.social during the Q &A with Mayor Romero, Councilmembers Schubert and Cunningham for how to follow #TucsonCouncil.
Iβm spending the night (in my official capacity) as a guest of yhr @pimadems.bsky.social for one of their fundraisers, featuring several members of the #TucsonCouncil.
Look for some highlights next week in the @tucsonagenda.bsky.social.
I am going to wrap up my coverage of the #PimaSupes meeting, as I have some deadlines to meet.
I'll be back with the coverage of the #TucsonCouncil this afternoon.
Scott is supportive, notes the Arizona legislature is seeking a similar state law.
He talks about doxxing, saying no public official (or employee) deserves people showing up at their homes.
To date, there have been two protests in front of homes - both members of the #TucsonCouncil.
Iβm attending a campaign rally for former #TucsonCouncil member Rocque Perez - this is not an endorsement, Iβm here as a reporter - to listen to his speech (as well as endorsements from other local pols.)
The #TucsonCouncil is still discussing middle housing.
After nearly an hour of public comment - with residents divided - the #TucsonCouncil discusses middle housing.
This will allow the city to approve homeless shelters, but a specific proposal will come back to the #TucsonCouncil in two weeks.
#TucsonCouncil also passes Resolution No. 24053 -ratifying the declaration of a housing and homelessness emergency for the City of Tucson; and declaring an emergency.
Resolution #24054 passes 7-0.

The #TucsonCouncil took a quick break. We are on item # 10 - related to changes in fees with Tucson Water, Parks and Rec, Planning & Development Services Departments.
This is informational only, any fee increase (or decrease if you are Tucson Water) would be discussed in March.
While some #TucsonCouncil wonks will say Lee is beating a dead horse, I'll remind that the Council has two new members.
(Although Schubert is very publicly against re-instituting transit fares/fees.)
Chief Financial Officer Anna Rosenberry tells the #TucsonCouncil that revenues are not meeting projections, creating an immediate concern about meeting budget revenues.
Next up, the #TucsonCouncil is going to revisit how it handles non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) after the #ProjectBlue debacle.

Right now, the Council is is on item #3 - Update on Strategic Initiatives Related to Unsheltered Homelessness (City Wide).
We are still at Call to the Public.
I'll be leaving the meeting shortly, as there as an item I am interested in over at the #TucsonCouncil coming up shortly.
Maybe I missing your point.
This is the #TucsonCouncil, they are all Democrats and are elected during an off cycle election.
There are several LGBT+ people on the Council and everyone else on the Council is likely considered an ally.
Maybe they are worried about the midterms, idk.
ICYMI: After months of political sniping, the #TucsonCouncil and #PimaSupes sat down and declared βpeace,β and got to work on fentanyl, homelessness and court reforms.
The dΓ©tente might be the real headline.

Currently, the #TucsonCouncil just signed off on several new liquor licenses.
Next up, Call to the Public.
The #TucsonCouncil is wrapping up the study session.
I'll be back at around 5:30 p.m. for tonight's meeting.
No decision was made on Middle Housing, it looks like it will come back to the #TucsonCouncil at a future session.
At this point, it will be decided by the new Tucson City Council, including Miranda Schubert and Selina Barajas.
