Un merle juvénile avec quelques plumes de duvet sur le dos. Il est vu de profil, posé sur le rebord d'une coupelle en terre cuite contenant un peu d'eau. Derrière lui, on voit un pot de fleurs rectangulaire en terre cuite dans lequel poussent quelques plantes non identifiées. La photo est ensoleillée et colorée, l'oiseau est éclairé par le soleil dans son dos.

Een bruine zangvogel op een tak van een kale boom. De vogel lijkt een merel-vrouwtje te zijn, met een egaal bruine kleur, lichte keelvlekken en een spitse snavel. De takken hebben nog geen bladeren, alleen sommige kleine knoppen. De achtergrond is licht en egaal, mogelijk een heldere lucht.

Een mannetjesmerel op het balkonhek, tussen de kerstlichtjes en de takken van de blauwe bes. Hij heeft zijn snavel open en roept iets, maar dat hoor je niet op de foto.
