This was an interesting one, because I had to make it up as I went along. Reasonably pleased with it and it holds this 7β#CrystalBall really well. Itβs turned from hard maple and purple heart.

Just put this piece of Roman olive through the bandsaw to cut it to the size I want, and I was immediately rewarded with a view of its unexpectedly stunning grain pattern.

Hubby asked for a small mallet, so I made one from tauari wood. Itβs imperfect, but heβs happy with it and as itβs the first Iβve ever made, Iβm trying to see more than those imperfections! Itβll do the job he wants it to do, so I guess thatβs a win? π
