Traffic crashes kill more than 12 people on an average day in Texas. People like Irving police officer and Army veteran, Jerome Scholz, 38, who was killed by a driver on November 15.

I walked 4,167 steps for the 4,167 people killed in traffic crashes over the past 12 months in Texas.
It’s unacceptable that 4,000+ people die on Texas road each year. Join me in demanding policies that save lives:

Since November 2023, 4,167 people died in traffic crashes in Texas. As folks gather on the Texas Capitol steps in Austin, I’m starting my walk of 4,167 steps in Denton in memory of the lives lost.

Picture of Diego Esparza-Arciniega with friends in a room with musical equipment around, with the text "In Memory of Diego Esparza-Arciniego, best friend to all and the rock of the Houston music scene, killed in a crash on I-45 in Downtown Houston on January 7, 2018. Love you, buddy."
I'm thinking of my friend Diego Esparza-Arciniega who died on Jan 7, 2018 exiting I-45 in Downtown Houston.
Something went wrong, thus I haven't seen Diego in 6 years. He hasn't played a show or recorded another Houston band's album. No one's been able to cry on his shoulder.
