The demise of #UCITCL suggests the UCI lacks vision? resources? ambition? to take track cycling forwards. If Aigle has given up - and it sure looks like that - then perhaps they should be encouraging someone else to try something different, not blocking or blanking them.
It isn't an entirely fair comparison, we accept... but ice hockey's NHL requires a perimeter wall twice as high as London's new safety glass which failed to stop Marchant and Pröpster flying into the spectator seating on Saturday night. #ucitcl

An update on Katy Marchant this morning: she suffered a fractured radius and ulna in her right forearm, as well as two dislocated fingers. British Cycling say she's in "good spirits" #UCITCL

With so many great sporting storylines this year, it's sad that the most memorable moment will inevitably be tonight's crash. The titles were won by the right people, based on the 5 nights of racing; but they won't get the applause and photos they richly deserve. #ucitcl

Now is perhaps too early to look at but there needs to be a full discussion as to why the new barriers fitted after Matt Walls' crash in the 2022 Commonwealth Games completely failed in doing exactly what they were fitted to do.

Why are the barriers so low?
Alessa-Catriona Pröpster and Katy Marchant are both reported to be 'ok' after flying over the Lee Valley track's new perspex safety barriers, and into spectator seating. Remaining racing at #ucitcl was cancelled.

According to Adam Blythe on Eurosport, Marchant has a suspected broken forearm but the others, while injured, walk away. Quite astonishing considering how horrendous it looked. #UCITCL
