I see what you did there Fisherman! and it really was. A bang like gunshot, so bad next door but one came running around white faced to see what had happened. The transformer smoked several times before bursting into flames. Luckily it didn't ignite greenery and it petered out

Outside my house after repairs to our electrical supply.

After the boiler got a fault, the immersion heater shorted out Friday and the electricity cable in the street cut our power off yesterday morning 11 hours later we had electricity restored. Thanks #UKPowerNetworks

After having no central heating and hot water since Friday afternoon at 1130am this morning our electricity went off.

#UKPowerNetworks were here within an hour and diagnosed my cable in the street had a fault and they are digging it up shortly.

FFS!!

Great to see swift action taken by #UKPowerNetworks to deploy bird deflectors here, I thank them for their speedy response & care. Going forwards we need to work closely with powerline operators to ensure lines are strategically placed away from high-risk waterbird collision areas. 2/2
