I can’t get behind the idea NWOBHM’s strength was primarily as a singles genre. IMO the full lengths are just as strong. I do wish more of the acts had gotten full albums.

Kim Wilde’s Never Say Never, such an underrated comeback. It’s got that perfect mix of modern polish and classic Wilde energy. Sadly it never got a vinyl release, I had to settle for the CD… but it’s still a gem.

A very short album compared to “Kid A” or “Amnesiac” but a pivotal point in songwriting, lyrically and musically with some haunting melodies that stay with you long after the album has finished.

Their third studio album lacks some of the vitality of their first 2 albums, and some of the polish of their subsequent releases but nonetheless is an amazing album.
