Clouded Drab - Upton Warren 19/03/26
A Clouded not-so-Drab(!) amongst 47/6 at #uptonwarren Flashes this morning with GWC. Another Shoulder Stripe & a Brindled Beauty were the only departures from Orthosia sp. VC37 SO96 #teammoth
These 2 summer plumaged Black-tailed Godwits were new in at #uptonwarren Flashes this morning. The Barnacle Goose of questionable origin was seen again with Canada Geese on the Sailing Pool. #WorcsBirds
In stark contrast to 67/7 at #uptonwarren, the garden moth-trap this morning held 3/2 (2CQ, 1HC) VC37 SO96 #teammoth
Shoulder Stripe - Upton Warren 17/03/26
My second nfm moth of the year at #uptonwarren this morning with GWC, a rather nice Shoulder Stripe. Also new for the reserve. Long hoped for this in the garden, but I'll take it π VC37 SO96 #teammoth
An unexpected 67/7 @ #uptonwarren this a.m.with GWC, which included the attached. I assumed Clouded Drab, but Obsid is saying 100% Twin-spotted Quaker. I was wondering, although not very seriously, about Lead-coloured Drab, although it's not very grey. Antennae not yet seen well. Any thoughts?
Heard but rarely seen a Cettiβs warbler. Seen at Upton Warren Bromsgrove. #uptonwarren
Heard my first male Blackcap of the Spring in song along the Salwarpe path at #uptonwarren this morning. 7 Snipe, 2 Oyks, 1 Lapwing, Pochard pr, 4 Shelduck, 10 Gadwall, 9 Shoveler, 6 Teal plus an Otter were seen at the Moors Pool. #WorcsBirds
Some of the detritus left in the hide at #uptonwarren Flashes on Friday (suitably binned back at the car park). If someone can carry a full cup of hot coffee to a hide why cant they leave with an empty cup?

Quite a few mature Scarlet / Ruby Elfcups along the River Salwarpe #UptonWarren this morning! Iβve not seen many this season, so it was good to see a few, today. π #Fungi #Worcestershire @worcswt.bsky.social
