🏙️ Cities are where climate action becomes reality.
National targets set the goals, but cities turn them into measurable impact.
The new FLUXES on #urbanemissions shows how real-time data helps cities track progress and move closer to #netzero.

The percentage of urban GHG emissions that can be monitored using satellite for 54 C40 cities. The color scale shows the percentage of Scope 1 (i.e., territorial) CO2 emissions of the total GHG emissions (All GHGs, Scope 1 + 2 + 3) according to self-reported inventories (GPC). The white circles are where the GPC inventory is not available.
#geography #urbanemissions
WMO’s GAW programme put together guidelines to help cities better measure and track their greenhouse gas emissions. Proud to have contributed as a chapter lead author to this global community effort.
