Great starter pack for #urbanists & #urbanism.
Amazing how people can claim to be #urbanists and then design #RedBoxBurbs on greenfield sites, at wastefully low densities, remote from public transport, with designs that militate against walking and cycling.
Most interactions (comments, likes, reposts, quote posts) were generally by #urbanists. So I felt I suddenly and unexpectedly had a good candidate for a stock media submission to various agencies, related to that topic. However it's not my area of expertise and I am unfamiliar with related terms

This one is called "Leaving the Opera in the Year 2000", Albert Robida, 1901. Yellow and pastel pink flying cars, all weirdly shaped like fish, are picking up elegant young couples in evening gowns and suits. They are waiting for their rides on platforms on the top of staircases that just stop in mid air. The city is just visible far below.

I made a meme for my fellow California based #urbanists and #Yimby.
HO scale kit produced for Lionel by another manufacturer of a rooming house. This kit came out in the 1970s and depicts a 1890-1910 era house purpose built as a rooming house, with exterior doors on both floors.
#urbanists have completely forgot a once common site in almost every town: A rooming house. Common trackside structure, early TOD.
This could be a HUGE factor in saving people from becoming unhoused, and provide decent quality living for longer stays.
This is also a rather nice HO scale kit.

It's funny - #urbanists and #cyclists point to #Toronto as a bastion of innovation...but same staff banned #e-scooters ...be proud of "Toronto Barriers" ...but the same team said our tires might get stuck in streetcar tracks despite being 2x wider than those tracks...
From ripping out bike lane in Ontario to crackpot bike licensing schemes in New York City, the backlash against the bike boom is here. Many try to paint micromobility riders as dangerous. We #urbanists need to get a lot more aggressive with our messaging, pushing the truth.
