The root of the problem could very well be that many peeps who need to use bikes for transportation have never been taught the #ROTR. They're POBs, pedestrians on bikes.
They don't think of themselves as #cyclists.
Dangerous on the roads due to ignorance, and the dangers amplify at higher speeds
I'm not saying reckless car drivers aren't a problem too.
What I'm saying is that #RecklessCyclists make Montreal's #BikeLanes UNsafe for other #cyclists & #pedestrians.
I have had VERY close calls as both a #cyclist & a #pedestrian, & I have witnessed reckless cyclists endangering other people.

You agree with me that #RecklessCyclists make bike lanes UNsafe for both other #cyclists and #pedestrians, & there are many reckless cyclists.
There are also problems with #BikeLane infrastructure, lighting & signage that should be corrected to make them safer.
If you believe the information about accidents affecting #cyclists & #pedestrians provided in the SPVM's annual report for 2024 is very misleading you should tell the #SPVM &or ask questions at city council meetings.
I think those #statistics underreport accidents involving cyclists & pedestrians.
