That's a wrap on Day 1 of the 2025 #VPHA Annual Conference!
So proud of Ph.D. student Aninda Sen and alum Faizan Talib, M.P.H., for presenting their research. VCU SOPH showed up to be part of the conversation and there's more coming in Day 2!

Screen capture of one of the slides in the slideset, concluding the fifty year span of the first industrial application of atomic layer deposition, ALD, electroluminescent thin film displays, as per Tuomo Suntola's invention. Announcement to close down the operations was dated 31st December 2023.
Some time ago, I gave a visiting lecture about the history of atomic layer deposition #ALDep in a course organized by Prof. Miikkulainen at @aalto.fi. The slides and lecture capture are now available, please see my blog post for links. blogs.aalto.fi/catprofopen/... 🧪 #Suntola #VPHA
Digging back some materials from the #ALDhistoryblog, I notice: according to the total pageviews image, there are quite some recent visitors, and the total is well over 250 000. Not bad, for #ALDep history #VPHA.
My interest right now: travel notes from 2015. aldhistory.blogspot.com/2015/11/ald-...

Here e.g. #VPHA #ALDep history work foundations were laid and those of #AtomicLimits #ALDdatabase periodic table; #TMAwater surface chemistry studies mapped; term GPC justified, & more.

The book is by Yu. Koshtyal and A. Rumyantsev. Yury was a core collaborator in the #VPHA #ALDep history project. I am eternally grateful for him for volunteering: the project would have been very different without him.

Returning to work after some time truly off-work - was needed.
In the meantime, one paper accepted (great!) and a minor revision (great, too!).
And I learn that a core collaborator from the #VPHA #ALDep history project has published a book! I will share the link in a reply.
Happy New Year, all!
