One of the most effective strategies for quieting a vessel is slowing down. Lower speeds not only reduce underwater noise, but also reduce the risk of collisions with whales like bowheads, which are particularly susceptible to ship strikes…Ship operators also benefit.

According to @noaa.gov MSC will not be charged in the death of the endangered sei whale they killed in 2024.

So, while the whale was swimming in her marine environment, her life was ended & there will be zero consequences to MSC.
