Although my second photo doesn’t qualify for #adoorableThursday, I can’t mention Old Malton without also mentioning the lovely Gilbertine remains at #Watton in the East Riding. There the prior’s lodgings survived the dissolution as a private house. A lovely fragment.

52 species found at #TophillLow today including a male Smew at #Watton. BT Diver on D Res. with millions (!) of other wildfowl inc. many Goldeneye, Pintial & RC Pochard. Counted 56 Curlew, but didn’t manage to see many other waders. @tophilllow.bsky.social #YorkshireBirding #YorkshireBirds
