To Be… or To Be-ing In response to Sadje's Whatdoyousee #WDYS #331 The Grammar Error of Being Human On my desk lies a peculiar cluster of keyboard keys that appear to have escaped from some philosophical computer. One says BAD.One says END.One says ING.And the last bears a tiny sad face, as if even punctuation occasionally requires emotional support. At first glance they seem like the emotional toolkit of the average human mind.Something unfortunate happens - we press BAD. Our feelings immediately follow with the sad face. And with admirable dramatic flair, we reach for END, as though life were an email we could simply conclude with Regards, Humanity.

Footprints in the Sands of Time In response to Sadje's #WDYS #Whatdoyousee #324 January 19, 2026 We arrive without ceremony, barefoot souls learning gravity, pressing ourselves into a worldthat was complete before usand will be again. Every life is a footfall, some hurried, some hesitant, some circling the same doubtsuntil the sand learns our weightby heart. We think legacy must be carved in stone, but the desert knows better. It remembers briefly, lovingly, like a hand resting on a shoulderbefore letting go. A child’s laughter crosses the dune,an animal’s quiet purpose follows,

Where Are You Headed In response to Sadje's #Whatdoyousee #WDYS #323 January 12 2025 The road does not hurry you.It simply opensa pale ribbon stitched through silence, asking nothing but your footsteps. Winter has stripped the trees of explanation. No leaves to distract,no color to persuade only truth standing bare on either side. Two figures walk ahead,or perhaps they are versions of youyou haven’t met yet.Distance makes prophets of strangers. The road narrows into an almost,an infinity point where certainty dissolves. Is that fear waiting there…

A Letter Written in Phases In response to Sadje's #WDYS #323 January 12, 2026. #Whatdoyousee My dear ones, I have watched you longerthan you have had names for yourselves. I saw you when you still looked up not to ask for signs, not to photograph wonder, but simply because you felt smalland wanted company. I was therewhen water still wrapped the earth like a lullaby, when stones rested quietly beneath waves, when night was not something you rushed throughbut something you trusted. You used to talk to me then. Not with wishes…

The Moment Before The Wonder In response to Sadje's #WDYS #322 January 6, 2026 #Keepitalive #Whatdoyousee Image Prompt: There was a village where every door had a sign. Some signs warned. Some explained. Some promised what waited on the other side. People trusted these doors. They liked knowing what they were stepping into. At the edge of the village stood one door with no sign at all. No words, and no pictures. Just a handle worn smooth, as though many hands had once rested there and then, for reasons unknown, stopped. Children noticed the door.

Under the Red and White Sky In response to Sadje's Whatdoyousee #320 #WDYS December 22, 2025 The circus came tiptoeing into town last night,On wheels that squeaked like giggles, painted red and white.I smelled it before I saw it, Popcorn clouds and trumpet air,And the moon leaned closer like it wanted a chair. Between Flight And Faith In response to: Sadje's #WDYS Whatdoyousee #319 December 15 2025 In the hush of winter, when the forest seemed to be holding its breath, a small bird clung to the side of a tree. The bark was rough, patched with moss and lichen, cold to the touch, offering neither comfort nor beauty in the way flowering branches do. The bird did not perch upright like others. It faced downward, trusting its grip, studying the world from an unusual angle. Many who passed through the forest never noticed the bird. Those who did, wondered why it chose such an awkward place to rest, why it did not fly toward the open sky or seek shelter in warmer hollows.

Lessons Written In White In response to Sadje's Whatdoyousee Image Prompt #318 December 8 2025 #WDYS In an old town cradled by hills and ancient stone, there was a narrow street locals called Rue des Silences - the Street of Silences. Not because it was quiet, but because it was a place where every sound seemed to carry meaning. One winter morning, snow drifted down like the sky was shedding soft feathers. The street glowed under garlands of pine and light, while Christmas trees stood outside doorways as if guarding little worlds of warmth.

A Tête-à-Tail In response to Sadje's #WDYS Whatdoyousee 318 December 8 2025 Welcome to “A Tête-à-Tail,” the only philosophical debate club in the world chaired entirely by two corgis who have absolutely no qualifications except being adorable, dramatic, and extremely judgmental. Today’s agenda - the universe, humans, squirrels, and why snacks are not served hourly despite clear demand. It all began on a suspiciously sunny afternoon when these two loaf-shaped philosophers hopped onto a chair they absolutely did not own, claimed it as their intellectual throne, and decided, without warning or supervision, to solve life’s greatest mysteries.

The Color the Light Remembers In response to Sadje's #WDYS Whatdoyousee #315, Image Prompt, November 17 2025 Life is a valley carved by centuries of becoming,a canyon whose walls hold the fingerprintsof every storm we’ve survived. Its colors keep changing, amber joy melting into russet grief, cinnamon sorrow warming back into beige hope, because nothing in this worldstays the shade it first seemed. The Great Window Watch Chronicles(as narrated by Mewsy the Cat, Esq.) In response to Sadje's #WDYS #313 , #Whatdoyousee They call it “the window.”I call it “Catflix.” Every morning, I take my position behind the curtain, my silky fortress of solitude, and tune into my favorite show: “The Birds: Season Infinity.” The plot never changes, yet somehow it’s gripping. A cast of the same feathered fools doing the same stunts, every single day. Riveting. Today’s episode began with a pigeon performing what I assume was a dance ritual. Probably to impress the lady pigeon. I gave him a slow blink of disdain, my version of Rotten Tomatoes giving a 3 out of 10.

The Tree That Would Not Let Go In response to Sadje's #WDYS # 312 on October 27, 2025. #Whatdoyousee #Keepitalive This image shows a branch of a tree where the leaves have turned golden but are still attached firmly to it. The Legend of Elias and the Golden Leaves They say there is a Beech tree deep in the old wood whose leaves never fall. Even when the snows come and the wind howls through the valley, those golden leaves stay fastened to their branch, shining against the gray like coins of sunlight. And if you ask the elders how such a thing came to be, they’ll tell you the tale of Elias, the keeper of the last leaves.

Can You Hear the Wind Talk? In response to Sadje's #WDYS # 312 on October 27, 2025. #Whatdoyousee #Keepitalive This image shows a baby dear looking up into the camera. It is standing next to a pole. In the background I think there is another dear. Once upon a dawn still wrapped in mist, a herd of deer gathered beneath an old banyan tree. They came every morning, not out of habit, but gratitude. The tree had sheltered generations of them through storms, offered leaves when grass ran dry, and whispered lullabies through its rustling branches.

The Universe Does Not Take Attendance In response to Sadje's #WDYS # 312 on October 27, 2025 "This image shows two people standing on a rocky hill, with the ocean down below. The sun appears to be rising and an eagle is flying in the dawn sky." Foreword: I’m going to assume that’s a seagull flying, not just any bird, but one that always circles endings. And I’m going to believe this is a sunset, not a sunrise, because this story isn’t about beginnings. It’s about that quiet moment when the world exhales, when the light folds into itself, and when we finally understand that beauty often arrives right before goodbye.

The Wall That Waves Back In response to Sadje's #WDYS 309 #Whatdoyousee on October 6 2025. Details in link below: Foreword This piece is what happens when Kafka’s quiet despair gets lost in one of Murakami’s surreal dreamscapes and decides to throw an existential dinner party, with absurdist humor as the uninvited but inevitable guest. It’s a strange alloy, eerie yet playful, heavy with meaning but light on its feet. The goal was to create a mood where the mundane flirts with the metaphysical, where a simple shadow becomes an ontological riddle. You’re meant to laugh, but uneasily; to think, but not too comfortably.

The Tale of the Twin Feasts In response to Sadje's #WDYS 308 #whatdoyousee Details in the link below: I have used both the images to craft my response. Here’s a story of Life’s Twin Banquets, how Body and Soul thrive together. One feast is humble, laid upon tables with bread, bowls, and simple nourishment. It steadies the hands, clears the mind, and gives the heart the strength to endure the day. The other is radiant, unfolding in music, laughter, and the wildness of movement. It does not fill the stomach, but it fills the spirit, reminding us why the body labors at all.
