Just a heron not in great condition either and a snipe at slimbridge yesterday while waiting for temminick stint to show. Nice to see numbers of snipe again. #UKBirding. #Wwtslimbridge.
A few very distant pics of temminick stint at slimbridge today. Shame as couple days ago it was from Robbie garnet hide. Also good to see lots of snipe, teal, green sandpiper and barnicle geese coming back. Great day at slimbridge as normal. #UKBirding #Wwtslimbridge .
Slimbridge today with Mark & Jan. Great to see my first temminick stint but it was a long way off from ziess hide.Called in chew valley lake on way home to see the buff breasted sandpiper, saw it but that was even further away and into the sun, no pics. #UKBirding. #wwtSlimbridge #Somersetbirding.
I had a lovely visit to #WWTSlimbridge on Thursday, enjoyed birdwatching from the hides and also seeing the collection of non-native species they keep there.

Leucistic or possibly erythristic Jackdaw in the shrubbery at WWT Slimbridge yesterday. I confess I had not heard the term 'erythristic' before investigating the colouration of this bird on the web. #WWTSlimbridge
Success! At the 4th attempt I managed some record shots of the White spotted Bluethroat at Slimbridge. That blue throat is very striking. Plus some Cranes were visiting the far end of Rushy Pen (from the hide). #WWTSlimbridge
On our way to Devon, we stopped off at Slimbridge for another quick try to catch the White spotted Bluethroat on the estuary. We failed again, so here is a cute young Shelduck instead! #WWTSlimbridge
Common Cranes near Slimbridge this lunchtime. Sadly, no sign of the Bluethroat during our visit. #WWTSlimbridge
Yellow and brown fluffy greylag gosling feeding on grass amid white daisies
Sibling greylag gosling also feeding on daisy-strewn grass but with a healing injury on the back of its neck where it escaped being grabbed by a predator!
Goslings at #WWTSlimbridge yesterday. The one on the right had a narrow escape from a predator by the look of it but was feeding unperturbed with mum and dad nearby.
It was. So many avocets and the kingfishers were busy fishing to feed their youngsters. #WWTSlimbridge really is a fantastic, gold standard reserve for everyone! 🌟

Nice to finally catch up with the Bluethroat at #WWTSlimbridge recently, after 3 failed attempts in previous years. #Birding
Great to see that the Kingfishers are nesting at WWT Slimbridge, I took this 📸 through a window as they were shut to protect the nest from disturbances.

A shelduck swims by as a swan shakes water of their head.
I love the water shaking of the swan’s head here while the shelduck doesn’t care. Nice to be close to these birds at #WWTSlimbridge #BirdsUK 🪶
A lone black swan among migrating Buick swans, geese and ducks on a lake at dusk.
Blurry pic (sorry) through the observation room glass of the #BlackSwan on the lake at #WWTSlimbridge shortly before feeding. Most of the swans here fly 2-3000 miles to be here in Slimbridge. Black swan, being Australian probably escaped from a private collection. Regular here though.🪶 #BirdsUK

Little egret standing apart from the others. Possibly enjoying the aesthetic of the berries in the tree. #WWTSlimbridge 🪶 #BirdsUK
