Sometimes I just want to see the sea. Back on the Wales Coast Path - sunshine, clifftop views across the Bristol Channel, and a picnic at Nash Point with 200 million years of geology beneath our feet. Perfect for blowing away the cobwebs.

Tucked away at the very top of the Garw valley is a little park, Parc Calon Lân. We took a circular route from the park up through the Garw Forest, down to the valley again at Lluest and back along the river.

When I'm translating French walking guides for British audiences, it's not just about swapping "sentier" for "path." It's about understanding that a French "randonnée hivernale" might involve totally different expectations from a British “winter walk”. Nuances matter.
