Dear Blue Jays fans, A few days have passed, and while time moves forward, the memories remain vivid and powerful. I'm writing to you today filled with gratitude and an enduring sense of just how special this Blue Jays season truly was. This begins, and must begin, with a simple but deeply felt thank you. Thank you to our fans - the best fans in baseball. You traveled great distances to support us, filling our ballpark at home and supporting us at stadiums on the road. You gathered around screens and radios from thousands of kilometers away. We heard you. We felt you. Your energy, your love, your hopes and belief reached our players and lifted us all. None of us will ever forget what that coast-to-coast-to-coast support meant or how it felt. Your passion inspired a group of individuals to achieve what few thought possible. Together we endured the grind of a 162-game season to capture the AL East title - in the toughest division in baseball. We toppled the Yankees on their home turf to win the division series. We overcame deficits and powerful opponents to be a strong Mariners team and claim the American League crown. And while we came up just centimeters short of a World Series Championship, those two banners will hang forever hang proudly at Rogers center - lasting symbols of a remarkable journey and season none of us will ever forget.
As I reflect, what stands up most is not only how much this team accomplished, but what you - our fans - celebrated about them. You saw their toughness, their resilience, their character, and above all, their love for one another. No team could better represent what it means to be a teammate. It wasn't just how they played; it is who they are as human beings. Their unity and selflessness brought people together across the country our country. In a time when we all needed it, our Blue Jays inspired us, lifted us, and united us - all through the game we love. Lifelong fans were rewarded, and millions of new ones were born. These Blue Jays became more than a baseball team. They became our team. They became us. Even now, the sting of falling short remains. That ache comes from our shared desire to bring you - and all of Canada - the World Series championship you so richly deserve. We’ll use that disappointment as fuel for what comes next. The pursuit continues with even greater resolve. As we turn the page and prepare for another season, we do so with immense pride and gratitude for our players, our staff, and for you, our fans. Soon, we’ll once again hear the words, “pitchers and catchers report to spring training”, and the journey will begin anew. Before that I'll take a moment to appreciate all we've experienced together. I have never been prouder to be a Blue Jay and never more determined to deliver more memories, moments, and celebrations that bind us together - as one team one country and one fan base. With pride and gratitude, Mark Shapiro President and CEO Your Toronto Blue Jays
Seriously. When do the tears stop?
