Two pieces of fossilised wood (approx. 6 cm x 1 cm) deposited from the London clay (circa 50 mil old) found exposed along the Sheppy Cliffs and Foreshore, Isle of Sheppy, Kent, England. Both have sloppy, faeces-like 'deposits' over parts of them. They are dark and metallic looking. A QEII one penny coin is shown for size comparison.
The same two pieces of fossilised wood as shown in the first photo, but turned over.
These pieces of fossilised wood I found yesterday along the Sheppy Cliffs and Foreshore have made me reconsider what I first thought might be coprolites (fossil poo). Notice the 'sloppy and lumpy' deposits. Looks like ๐ฉ, right? ๐ง๐ #Fossils #WardenPoint #IsleOfSheppy #Sheppy #Kent #England
