Coastal scenery at Trumpan. The image shows a narrow road leading up the right side of the frame with a metal crash barrier to its left. The ground drops steeply to the shore on the left with a calm sea and a stony beach. The shore curves round to the left, to a promontory with sea this side of it and beyond it, where it continues almost to the horizon, which has a faint outline of distant land. The scene is in sunlight.

A Celtic cross memorial stands in a dry stone walled grassed area which is a graveyard although no other stones are in the frame. It overlooks a narrow strip of land with sea in front and behind it and on the horizon is another peninsula with steep cliffs which is the dunvegan peninsula on Skye. The image is taken from the end of the waternish penisula.
