Sat in the motherland but brain still processing NHS news. Things are v bleak at the moment-yesterday’s “briefing” did little to lift the gloom.
Still there’s a few more days of chai, gorgeous sunsets and time with the extended family to enjoy before we shift to the UAE for week 2! #WeekendMubarak
End of a long old week. In Manchester on Tues, addressing the new ‘25 GMTS cohort, with SMT colleagues yesterday trying to balance new work,a spend moratorium&an impending acceleration in the NHSE-DH change programme, and the RHO road show on ethnicity pay gap today… I’m knackered! 😴 #WeekendMubarak
Long old week- highlights included bumping into a former top gear presenter/ living legend in the gym, flying visit to the big smoke, and this mornings 6am jog/walk that ended with me drooling over a street parked 612 Scaglietti (the universe is talking to me). Ready for a rest! #WeekendMubarak
Well that was a bit of a week.Started on a high thinking recovering from a marathon would be a walk in the park, had two intense days back in London with some indulgence and returned home yesterday feeling v broken-a feeling that continued today.Lots of recovery time needed I think! #WeekendMubarak
Made it to the end of another working week. Thankfully a few days leave now to rest and recharge. The taper is upon me so a shorter run beckons this weekend. With the weather the way it is, it would be almost rude not to have a bbq #weekendmubarak
Long old week, which ended in Manchester at a development session looking at employee disengagement (v apt given the state of NHSE at the mo!). M62 was a car park on the way back, so took the scenic route-and stopped to admire the views…nothing beats a sunny day and a working V8! #weekendmubarak
Weird week. Started with clocking up 20miles in prep for the marathon, then onto an entirely expected yet surprise announcement, and ended by saying farewell to the boss for a week, as well as daytime cuppas and lunches for 4 weeks. #WeekendMubarak #RamadanMubarak
That felt like a week&a half crammed into 5 days😰
Highlights included another London trip, bit of fettling of the jalopy, meal with a mate&then a pre booked brunch with the boss this morning.
We hadn’t clocked the date-after almost20yrs of marriage,it’s not a big deal in our house 😅 #WeekendMubarak
Looong week. Pleased to get to the end. Highlight was catching up with some legends I worked with over the pandemic. Don’t think any of them are on this platform but an evening of good food with great people was just what I needed- the fact that we met Asma Khan was an added bonus! #WeekendMubarak
In the pantheon of rubbish weeks, that one was up there with the worst. Still it’s the weekend, I’ve turned 22 for the second time and despite the fact that the family didn’t get the hint that I wanted a new car🏎️, they have treated me to a nice meal 😋 #WeekendMubarak
That week was a hell of a year. Started well-cleaned the cars to get the worst of the winter grime off and got to the gym on Monday.
Tuesday onwards I’ve been nursing a grotty cold, dealing with a ridiculous workload and have been unable to go for a run either outside or at the gym #weekendmubarak
Lovely end to the week- rolled back the years to deliver some Lean/ CI training I haven’t delivered for at least 15 years with my team&wider function, had a delicious meal at 7 Dials Market, ran it off this morning as part of marathon training and ventured back home this afternoon. #WeekendMubarak
Park run o’ clock, and a morning salute to El Loco/ El Genio #parkrun #weekendmubarak
Long week that started with a broken car, then moved on to 2 days in Liverpool, a tonne of emails to catch up on and 22k of running and walking to mark the second week of London marathon training, ends with a working Italian GT (for now #TouchWood) and some takeout #weekendmubarak
