Barbara Tomporowski wrote: "We are the Heroes, Not the Sidekicks" discussed how factors such as technology and the number of small publishers relates to the increasing amount of literature by and about people experiencing disabilities. Panellist Cait Gordon said that, despite the issues with social media, "it has been awesome" for people with disabilities "finding each other, not feeling isolated, feeling more bold, telling their stories starring characters who are like them."
