Photo is a #DemonPotatoes version of the "How it started... How it's going" meme, with an inset photo on the left half of the image under the heading "How it started" showing two fresh new baby potatoes, one round and one pear-shaped, with faces drawn on them with marker consisting of two dots for eyes and a squiggly line for a mouth, and an inset photo on the right hand side under the heading "How it's going" showing the same two potatoes looking much more wrinkled and shriveled, with the skin on the pear-shaped baby potatoe also having turned much darker. Along the bottom, text reads: #DemonPotatoes https://www.butterfliesandaliens.com/stacks/something-awoke-in-the-garden
As we approach the one year anniversary of our being "blessed" with our resident #DemonPotatoes by @laurcunn.bsky.social at the 2024 #WhenWordsCollide Festival, it seemed the right time for this...

Barbara Tomporowski wrote: "We are the Heroes, Not the Sidekicks" discussed how factors such as technology and the number of small publishers relates to the increasing amount of literature by and about people experiencing disabilities. Panellist Cait Gordon said that, despite the issues with social media, "it has been awesome" for people with disabilities "finding each other, not feeling isolated, feeling more bold, telling their stories starring characters who are like them."
This was posted after the disability in fiction panel I was on called: We are the Heroes, Not the Sidekicks on the #WhenWordsCollide FB group. So grateful to Barbara and WWC for the acknowledgement of our voices! #SFF #Disability

Enjoying #whenwordscollide in #Calgary- I’ve been on a panel talking about Power Dynamics in Fantasy. Tomorrow at 9 I’m on a panel about Subtext. Attended the AI panel today which was timely. Currently at the #agent panel with 3 agents talking about the biz
I’m sitting in my rollator whose name is Noola, in front of a When Words Collide backdrop
Have Noola, will travel! My rollator is named after the just disabled character I ever wrote. Can you name the novel?
