A good night for #Nocmig over my #Wigginton #York suburb - 25 flocks of Common Scoters and plenty more besides. A clear night, so the vast majority of migrants were too high for the recorder - as evidenced by the constant action in the thermal imager!

Big numbers of #nocmig migrants heading E over #Wigginton #York presently in the thermal - mostly wildfowl but also waders and passerines. Clear skies here so most too high to pick up calls, but a few lower Scoter flocks audible. Woodcock NE also.

Confined to the #York #Wigginton 'hood for the moment but still plenty to enjoy in the snow - cold weather movements included 175 Golden Plovers, 263 Fieldfares, 45 Redwings & 9 Lapwings, plus 3 Grey Partridge, a pair of Mandarin on the village pond, and a Kingfisher flashing over snowy fields ❄️
