Front and back view of a #WildflowerID request. Growing among the dandelions in my front yard but smaller and with the dark grey backs to the petals looks like one of the hawk-things. #WildflowerHour

Huge thanks to @bigmeadowsearch.bsky.social for all their excellent #WildFlowerID posts in recent months!
Well worth following them and scrolling back through their posts if you're looking to sharpen your ID skills this spring.
Hope they enjoy a well-earned break after all that hard work!

Find out how Nicola @wildplantwanderer.bsky.social is progressing on her botanical journey with #Identiplant, our online botany course.
She's been getting to grips with leaf shapes, #WildFlowerID keys & she just had her 1st "Eureka, suddenly it all fell into place" moment: bsbi.org/blog/2026/03...

Yes I agree that collages are a great way to showcase #WildflowerHour finds! And it's fine to ask for #WildflowerID help, it's just easier for others to zoom in to see the detail needed for an ID with individual pics. A few pics of the plant in question from different angles are always helpful too.

your 'I think guelder-rose' is a Juneberry (Amelanchier lamarckii) or possibly one of the other Amelanchier species. It makes a very pretty small tree for a garden
Let's just check with the #WildflowerID gang

Yes, it looks like Barren Strawberry from what I can see. For an ID of your centre violet do you have any pics showing spur and sepals, as these are important characters for Viola ID. It is always helpful to post photos for ID individually rather than in a collage, and use the hashtag #WildflowerID.

Plant 2 looks like Barren Strawb to me, would @naturelark.bsky.social agree?
She has a handy #WildFlowerHour cribsheet to help people ID strawbs & if we ask her nicely, she might share it with you!

Can anyone help me out with this grass -- or not a grass? High altitude (near top of Eagle Crag, #Cumbria), acid, waterlogged soil. This was the largest tussock (in an area without sheep), individual flowers were also seen emerging through grazed areas. #WildflowerID #botany #WildflowerHour

Name That Plant is an amazing #WildFlowerID resource created by @milneorchid.bsky.social!
The website namethatplant.org is built on a photo library of >2,700 plant taxa.
We were delighted when Richard very kindly agreed to let us use those fabulous images on the new BSBI website: bsbi.org/plants!

Although I did get confused with this violet as the sepals don't look as pointed as the Early Dog Violet that I had found, but the flower stem doesn't look hairy #WildflowerID Out of curiousity, does anyone know what this violet might be?

Small white flowers growing in clinkers.

Mass of white violets, growing actually on the railway tracks at Digby and Sowton station. Would be grateful if #WildflowerID can offer an opinion on species.
