Taken earlier today while out enjoying the winter sunshine.
I'm finding the SAD getting bad at the mo, but a brisk 8ml walk through icy rain and into the eventual glorious sunshine helped blow some cobwebs away 🌦☀️🐦😁

These guys normally nest in large sandy banks, but here in Newcastle, we have a colony in an old stone wall!

1. Broad Bodied Chaser Dragonfly: This is a young male. The powder blue on his abdomen is just starting to show
2 & 3. Damselflies: These are mating pairs, with the male above in a 'mate guard' to keep other males away while the female lays gets eggs.
