#Philly So now that #coyotes are in the #Wissahickon people are acting like they are dealing with dangerous creatures you should watch out for. I was walking the other day and so guy yelled out and said "Sir! Just letting you know that someone saw a coyote up ahead". (1/4)

A concrete plinth containing the original cornerstone of the Leverington Hotel, laid in 1731. The sign's plaque reads, "original cornerstone to the old leverington Hotel built on the Southeast corner of Ridge and lovington Avenue by William and Hannah Ludington in 1731. It was the first inbuilt in this section which was then one of the 13 original townships of Philadelphia. It once bore the sign of "The Tun"; later was changed to " Wagon and Horses" and still later in 1897, back to Leverington Hotel." RMWHS 1997

TIL that the site of the library in Roxborough was originally the site of the Levering Hotel, founded in 1731.

I wish there were signs like these but for the Lenape peoples who were here first.
