A photographic series on wood mice by wildlife photographer Julian Rad.
Wood mice (Apodemus sylvaticus) are common in Britain and can be found in homes or gardens. They are known for their large ears and eyes, as seen in the image.

A photo of a Wood Mouse, pausing on a log. I was lucky to see one, as they are usually nocturnal.
Wood Mouse Apodemus sylvaticus, of the family Muridae. Not everyone's cup of tea but I was pleased to see one at a local Reserve.

Another wood mouse completed! 🐭 Wood mice have a trait of leaping vertically into the air when surprised.

Overhead view of part of a small rodent cage containing four woodmice. They have a substantial amount of organic hay to burrow and nest in, plus an exercise wheel, a tennis ball with a hole cut in it (an unused harvest mouse nest) filled with peanuts, plus a container of otehr seeds and a piece of apple. All buried to keep it 'safe'. And, to prove that woodmice are clean and civilsed animals, a latrine has been dug in one corner.
In #Woodmouse news:
They're all fast asleep in the hay, having spent the night covering up their food sources, digging a latrine in the far corner of their enclosure and wearing out the excercise wheel.
All very civilised. They're in here until the weather improves.
