A brown striped tabby cat sniffs at a brown wool felted goat figure. The background is bright green grass.
Another view of wool felted goat figure. It has black hooves, small horns, and white stripes highlighting the nose. Eyes are white with black horizontal pupils.
My cat Fernando approves of my recent wool felted creation. This little goat was made for a dear friend for her birthday. #woolfelt #goat #goatdolls

On the grounds of the Nintendo Museum. A photo taken from above of a Pokémon manhole cover, known as a “Pokéfuta”, featuring Pikachu. The design shows Pikachu happily jumping, set against a colourful dotted background with motifs of a Game Boy and a Poké Ball. “Pokéfuta” are region-specific manhole covers in Japan decorated with Pokémon designs. 5 February is known as “Pikachu Day”.

In a Japanese-style tatami room at home. An Ehō-maki (lucky direction sushi roll) is placed facing this year’s lucky direction, south-southeast. Beside it are roasted soybeans for Mamemaki (bean-throwing). 'Setsubun' is a traditional Japanese event held on the day before the beginning of spring, meant to drive away bad luck from the past year and welcome good fortune. 'Ehō-maki' is a thick sushi roll eaten in silence on Setsubun while facing the year’s lucky direction and making a wish. It originated mainly in the Kansai region but has now spread throughout Japan. 'Mamemaki' is a traditional custom in which beans are thrown to chase away ONI (Demon) and invite good fortune.

At the event space on the 8th floor of the Hanshin Umeda Main Store. A photo spot featuring a vivid red wall and floor, with three giant strawberries installed—two on the floor and one on the wall. Heart-shaped mirrors are also attached to the wall. This display is part of the annual Valentine’s event held every year since 2019, running this year from 14 January to 14 February. In recent years, photo spots decorated with giant strawberries have become especially popular. In addition to the 8th floor, the 1st floor and the basement level 1 also offer a wide variety of strawberry sweets during this period.

In my bathroom. In Japan, the 26th of every month is known as “Bath Day”. The date comes from a wordplay on the numbers '2 (fu)' and '6 (ro)', which together are read as 'furo', meaning “bath” in Japanese.

At Anamori Inari Shrine. A large 'Ema' (a pentagonal wooden votive plaque with a painted image, offered at shrines as a wish or in thanks for a wish being fulfilled). In the centre, the racehorse "Inari One", which has a close connection to Anamori Inari Shrine, is powerfully depicted in reference to the Year of the Horse in the zodiac. At the top left is the tail of a dragon, last year’s zodiac sign, and at the bottom left, a white fox washing its paws at a 'Hanachōzu' (a water basin decorated with floating flowers), alongside rice ears. At the top right are the Senbon Torii gates and Mount Inari, while at the bottom right, a white fox is feeding the racehorse "Do Deuce". Designed by MATSUO Kaori.
