Since I feel like shit this time of year, a few words about it:
"The sun struggles through the cloud's fibers
Mascara'd cotton held up to the lamp
The smeared ink stain of my acid tears
Peeling the faded paint off in my hands
I open my eyes, to a curtain of midnight blue"

From what might be my final song:
"I look for the future, in the void between the stars
The ink of the Heavens, I use to tattoo my scars
My smile's an illusion, a trick gravity has done
And the light in my eyes, is just the echo of the sun"
I was doing some damn good writing...

Written for/about my muse:
"My soul is virgin ground
Your footsteps blaze the trail
To the core of my heart
Where I hold your holy grail
Hope is the string pulling up my smile
Love the fire that fuels me
I show my faith in you by clutching
My barbed wire rosary"

There's a lyric that's been my North Star since I started writing. Eventually, I twisted it into my own version:
"My heart is shattered, on the floor the shards
Are covered in the residue of my love
I cut my fingers as I pick up the pieces
And arrange them into a blood red rose"
