Older people with hearing loss are two and a half times more likely to suffer from mental ill health. Managing age-related hearing loss with hearing aids, in people aged between 45-65 years, could reduce their risk of dementia in later life by 7%. THE GREAT RESIGNATION The UK economy loses an estimated £25 billion each year in lost productivity and unemployment due to unaddressed hearing loss. 40% of people with hearing loss retire early due to struggles with communication at work. 1/3 of all UK workers are aged 50 and over, so employers must be ready to support more people with hearing loss in the workplace in order to retain sta .
