Alan Yentob who I photographed at the BBC in 2014 has passed away.. He was 78 years old.. Unboughtedly one of TV’s creative giant and one of Britain’s most influential TV executives and presenters. @ayentob1 #yentob #alanyentob #bbc #monoportrait #davidsandisonYentob

In his post as Head of Arts, Alan Yentob had searched high and low and found that only Alan Yentob could handle the task. Having hired himself at a suitable salary, he did some excellent programmes — the one about the Soane Museum was especially fine — but I often wondered, while watching him in action, if he ever thought back to the days when his decisions had made life difficult for those of us who were doing the same thing.
The late #CliveJames is responsible for this particularly fine quote about #AlanYentob - taken from The Blaze of Obscurity, circa 2009 (I think)… #BBC #Yentob
#Yentob naivety & poor judgement in letter suggesting arson etc. no way to persuade funders of effectiveness, get help from @TheEIFoundation
If #Yentob and the other @KidsCompanyUK trustees have failed as badly as appears, they should be disqualified. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/bbc/11792030/Pressu...
I wonder if #Yentob took a taxi to this interview with @eddiemair on @BBCPM?
He likes taxis doesn't he.
