I was genuinely surprised it got that high because I fast-forwarded through the first 20 episodes watching only the second couple, who barely appeared at all up until about episode 25. The problem with this drama was simply that it was too long. 30 episodes was too long to sustain the core story and so it was padded out with inanity that held no interest. The incredibly lengthy and convoluted "bring the kid down" plotting from her banking colleague/rival and the evil big bad woman, all of that was boring as hell. Especially because SARFT makes sure the goodies will always win. Given that, the simple fix for this drama would have been to make it 24 not 30. And instead of wasting our time with infighting in the bank, which we always knew was never going to go anywhere, they could have fleshed out the story of the nerd actor and the nerd tech geek. Their story had potential, but it ended with... See you for breakfast? Really?
Nevertheless, the last 6 or so episodes did show what a shorter, tighter version could have been. Especially because there was plenty of the element MOST critical to the sucess of any truly meaningful, moving and worthwhile Drama:
Osculation – high in both quantity and quality.
I’ve been watching East Asian Dramas for more than 12 years now, as a mature, sophisticated and at least semi-sentient quasi-enlightened being, I know for simple scientifically proven fact that this element is what matters most. For finally getting the basics right, this Drama went from 5 to 6.5 Had the VERY good-looking STP got to share in the osculation, and had the Drama been 25% shorter, a score as high as 7 could have been possible
6.5 out of 10 for #CDrama, #YouAreMyLoverFriend
