This cover of FM Towns #ZakMcKracken still bugs me. We got Fujitsu to put more clothes on Annie Larris, but they wouldn't change the damsel in distress/fawning pose. I made sure to make all the women in Zak to be self-sufficient, strong, smart, problem-solving, and this totally went against that.

I wonder if this is one of the reasons so many people didn't believe @grumpygamer.com when he first announced #ReturnToMonkeyIsland on April Fools day in 2022...

And I'm sorry there really wasn't a real #ZakMcKracken sequel.

Meet David and Peapod, an upgrade to my Zak McKracken cosplay. They’re my first posable art doll and slightly bigger than real squirrels. I made them from scratch, which took me nearly 100 crafting hours.

"Little known trivia, this ability to fully control the verbs wouldn’t have been possible in #ManiacMansion where the UI was hardwired in code. @grumpygamer rewrote the entire UI in SCUMM scripts so I had the flexibility to swap in various verbs, or as here, gradually vanish them in the Mindbending machine as you’re losing your mind. Definitely added tension to the scene."

I just remembered a funny thing about Zak McKracken 🥸

If Zak gets caught by the aliens, he starts losing his mind. And the verbs gradually disappear! Then they come back as soon as he's free.
