Zitkála-Šá (Gertrude Simmons Bonnin) a Dakota writer, musician/advocate for Natives. Born 1876 @Yankton Reservation in South Dakota, she was taken as a child to missionary boarding school where she was forced to assimilate —trauma that influenced her activism.
