This is a black and white landscape image of the Adler Aquarium from the north side. The bottom of the frame is the top of a grassy hill upon which the planetarium is situated. The dome shaped roof is on the right with a tree in front of it and the roof is subdivided and textured by bright even lines breaking it up into rectangles on the curve. Both roof and tree are lit brightly on the left side by the early morning sun. To the left of the dome shaped building is an attached building with a triangular shaped roof. The roof has equidistant line going first horizontally and then broken up vertically with large slats. The side is equally broken into rectangles by glass tiles. In front of the triangular building is a large bare bushes with the left side lit up well. Finally in front of both buildings that appear as one is a raised platform with gating around it to prevent people from following. The stones that make up the platform are rectangular and shaped like very large stone bricks. A portion of the platform angles down to the cement below in a smooth triangle. A small cloud is behind and above of the domed planetarium.

The image is 50/50 with the lower half being Lake Michigan covered in large clumps fo snow and ice with light green patches of water in between each clump--looking like mini icebergs. The light-filled skyline in crisp detail filled with multiple colored lighting. The cloud-filled sky itself is reflecting the city lights against the falling slow cast an orange and yellow glow against the grey skies.
It snowed in #Chicago today so I went back out to #AdlerPlanetarium to reshoot the skyline and it didn't disappoint. The snow reflected the light beautifully lighting up the sky in color & the snow/ice on #LakeMichigan added ambiance

This is a landscape photo of the Chicago skyline at night from Adler Planetarium situated on a promontory on Lake Michigan affording views of the city with a portion of Lake Michigan in the foreground and a quay before the lake. The edges of the quay are a repeating pattern of concrete similar to the balustrade at the top of a fortification. In the background is the brightly lit skyline of Chicago, in the gold tungsten lighting with splashes of red, blue, and white. Each skyscraper is met at the waterline by it's opposite reflection in the water, will high clouds thin enough to show some sky are visible above the buildings.
Loved the vantage point from #AdlerPlanetarium in #Chicago so much this morning, I went back tonight & captured this shot with the #NIKON #D850. The skyline is so pretty. I'm sure this shot has been done and overdone, but it was still magical for me.

In this portrait shot, The skyscrapers of the south side of Chicago rise up into the blue sky gleaming in the warm yellow light of the morning sun. Their reflections are mirrored against the glossy thin ice on Lake Michigan. A low squat building with black windows sits in front of the skyscrapers. Left of frame is a concrete walkway next to the lake with the remnants of snow and ice left in the shadows. On the right stands a lone lamp still lit from the long night rising parallel to the vertical towers in the distance.
Got up early for the #sunrise at #Adlerplanetarium and greeted with a clear sunrise and icy #reflection of the #chicago skyline on #lakemichigan
