He had no way of knowing what happened to everyone else and the only way he found out they were all safe (assumedly) was through Luffy's message But he was alone again. Yes, there was Mihawk and Perona but he wasn't close with either, and going off the fact that Mihawk lives in such a large castle he was for sure sleeping alone again and all the empty space only served to enhance that feeling. He'd finally known what it was like to have people care about him only to be alone again knowing how it felt to sleep surrounded by people he trusted, and now knowing how it felt to miss them. I think he regressed a few times during those two years, once at the very start, once after he lost his eye, and once nearing the end of the two years. "

There had been so much happening ever since thriller bark from him hiding how bad his injuries were, to being the first sent away during Sabaody, and then knowing he couldn't have been there to help Luffy during and after Marineford and everything just piled up resulting in him regressing while Perona was dressing his wounds. That mixed with his current condition, injured and unable to move very much, resulted in him regressing young. For a while he just cried out of frustration as much as he didn't want to in front of Perona and as much as she would try to help they really didn't know each other and she really couldn't do much aside from try to understand and let him get it out."

It was a comic about Zoro losing his eye to Mihawk during training and how it could have gone down and its so canon to me because it's a very in character view of it which is why I really do wish I could find it again. Either way, the point of it is that Zoro loses his eye when he doesn't limit himself in his training and tries to push Mihawk to keep going as he can still go on and wants to keep pushing himself. In retaliation and to show Zoro he isn't at the point to do so yet Mihawk slashes Zoros eye. Headcanons about how it happened aside though, no matter how it went down he would regress. Be it once the shock wore off, or while Perona was once again tending to the injury like she had been doing for all his injuries he'd been getting during training, he would regress. It wouldn't be over losing his eye, to him it doesn't matter that he lost it (at least until the reality of this being something that has left him essentially disabled until he learns observation haki (I could talk about this so much do not let me) and will take a good while to adjust to sets in) as he could still breathe and fight which was all that mattered to get stronger. So while he wouldn't regress over the loss of his eye it would cause a short bout of doubt that he wouldn't be able to come back stronger for the crew as he hadn't been enough to stop himself from pushing too hard and this loss from happening."

Perona, despite getting annoyed at Zoro a lot over his lack of self care, self preservation, and sense of direction, manages to do pretty well at taking care of him. Once Zoros initial crying and anxieties calm down she finally gets to see the side of him that just hasn't had any care and has come to trust her as someone who he can let himself be taken care of by. Finally, he would regress one last time during the two years. This would happen maybe a few months before the end of them, a mix of missing the crew from being separated for so long while also knowing it's almost time to see them again. Once again this is the point where going forward this is more for my AU rather than general headcanons so it pertains more to future fics. It wouldn't be anything too much and it would be more of a quiet regression where he would find a place to hide away for a while because this is also where he fully decides that to come back stronger this is something he cannot do anymore. The whole point of the two year separation was for them all to come back stronger and to him regressing was something he needed to leave behind to do so."

A tumblr screenshot of white text on a dark blue background reading: "I've talked about Zoro enough I wanna talk about Robin because I do absolutely adore her and feel like she isn't given enough attention. -Having gone through just Everything that she has she didn't know she was regressing at first and it wasn't as if she could slow down to take the time to understand it with how much she was always on the move. But seeing as she is always reading more you could assume she would end up reading more psychology leaning books at some point where she'd learn of it and things would click for her as to what was happening. -Being able to identify it and have a better understanding of it allowed her to suppress it more, considering what her situation was before being with the Straw Hats it isn't something she would allow herself to feel as it would leave her more vulnerable which was the last thing she thought she needed at the time. Especially since when it did break through despite her attempts to suppress it it would intensify how scared and hurt she felt. Scared of being caught, scared of herself, and just so hurt by the world.

When there were moments where she was the only one on the Merry she would let herself regress, letting out years of suppressed emotions. There was still fear and hurt, those were not emotions that would go away easily even if she was growing to care for the crew deeply and was coming to terms with the fact that they would not treat her as others had. But now there were times where just being able to settle down in the women's quarters and read or express herself somewhere safe allowed her to feel comfort in regressing. -She has a wide age range that she regresses to, a lot of the time she rests on the older kid side of the spectrum as regressing much younger can feel overwhelming on her own due to the feeling of vulnerability that comes along with it being something she still isn't fully used to especially pre-Enies Lobby.

A tumblr screenshot of white text on a dark blue background reading: "From this point on the headcanons can be taken as general ones but are also mixed with my AU where Zoro and Robin both regress. -Pre-timeskip only two people were aware that she regressed. Zoro knew because she was the one to figure out he regressed first and though they didn't regress together aside from once after Enies Lobby during their first few days on the Sunny there was a mutual understanding between them about it. If one needed to regress the other would make sure no one would interrupt and vice versa. While it was rare for either of them to regress in the first place (Overall Robin does regress more than Zoro) both were also very calm regressors and weren't ones to run around or anything so sometimes just quietly being in the same room together made whoever was regressed feel safer than regressing alone. Having this in common with Robin did help him in trusting her more and accepting her as part of the crew (because it really does feel like there wasn't much time to see that happen in canon).

A tumblr screenshot of white text on a blue background reading: "-The other to know about it would be Franky, he ended up finding out about it accidentally and after a brief period of Franky worrying she was mad at him over it and Robin not knowing if he was going to keep quiet about it they have a conversation about it and she ends up trusting him enough to let him be around her and take care of her while she's regressed. -Franky, for how new this all is to him, is a really good caregiver for her. Yes, he is a loud and very outgoing guy but he can also slow down when needed while still keeping his carefree vibe that she finds comforting to be around. A lot of the time she just wants to cuddle with him and feel safe or have him read or tell her stories. Even if she does trust him a lot in and out of being regressed she still likes to have some control over what's happening as she's still getting used to having someone taking care of her and still has some doubts over letting people see her like this. But over time she does let him take the lead more and help her learn to let go of that fear.
