Jerry Brown easily overshadowing Mike Bloomberg when it comes to Impassioned climate arguments at #AGU2019, but its also weirdly like Bloomberg wants to avoid talking about the fact that he’s running for president.

Jerry Brown on the urgency and challenge of overcoming deep complacency about climate change: “Money talks, the market is God, and we’ve got to get God on our side.” #AGU2019

Hot take: there should be small isolated boxes available to crawl into, curl up in a ball and cry for 10 minutes straight during the #AGU2019 meeting.

Narrative as Pedagogy: Using Science Storytelling in Earth and Space Science Teaching II Posters This session focuses on using narrative--scientific storytelling--and the process of creating narratives to effectively communicate and educate in the geosciences. Storytelling, and the training of storytellers, is ancient pedagogy. Narrative techniques are employed in informal and formal educational settings, and also in scientific communication.  Narratives may be created by students, educators and scientists. They can help teach scientific process, establish personal connections to content, and make knowledge easier to retain. Narratives encompass a range of media, including oral storytelling, writing and digital media. Some are simple to create (e.g. journals) and others more technical (e.g. video, theater, podcasts). Objectives vary, and can include enhancing understanding, addressing controversial topics and giving voice to marginalized populations. We welcome papers that share experiences of incorporating narrative into educational settings, specifically in Earth and Space Science.

Check out this great session planned at @theAGU #AGU2019 Fall Meeting on using narratives in earth and space science teaching
