Teenage girls say they drink for vibes. But the morning after costs more than a hangover - Bhekisisa South African teenage girls and young women know alcohol leaves them ashamed, broke and hungover — but in a world where drinking signals belonging, "just say no" was never going to cut it.

Raise the price, people drink less. The evidence is consistent. Budget alcohol tax increases + ad restrictions = the policies that work. But price alone won't fix a problem woven into everyday life.
