Disagreement Over Red Meat and Saturated Fats Between MAHA and American Heart Association Recent dietary debates have highlighted a growing divergence between federal nutritional guidelines and the recommendations of established health organizations. The Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) initiative, supported by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has promoted red meat and beef tallow as part of a healthy diet, even advocating for whole-fat dairy and large portions of animal protein. This approach sharply contrasts with the American Heart Association's (AHA) updated guidelines, which emphasize plant-based proteins, low- or nonfat dairy, and unsaturated fats over saturated fats for cardiovascular health. While both the AHA and federal guidelines agree on limiting processed foods, added sugars, and refined grains, their perspectives differ on animal products and fat sources. Experts point out that diets high in red meat are linked to poorer heart outcomes, and some advisory panel members supporting the federal approach have financial ties to meat and dairy industries, raising concerns about potential bias. The AHA's recommendations reflect the current scientific consensus and provide guidance aimed at reducing heart disease risk, while federal policies focus on influencing institutional food programs. The debate illustrates how public health messaging can vary depending on organizational objectives, evidence interpretation, and industry influence, leaving consumers with mixed messages about optimal dietary practices.

Relating to RFK Jr.s #DietaryGuidelines
Even tho meat is expensive, fake meat is even more costly. Why would that be, considering the recourses that go into farm animals?
The reason is, meat is subsidized (Your taxes bring down the price). And RFK may try for MORE subsidies. See the corruption?
