A collage of two images of the same axle detail, both showing the part from different side angles.

The larger surfaces are painted in brass nmm and the deeper set more "functional seeming" ones are held in a type of slightly purple-ish blue nmm. These surfaces are also supposed to read as somewhat shiny and reflective, which is why the brightest details painted on the nearby galaxy horses (not seen in this image) are painted as reflections on this piece.

It is photographed in front of grey fabric background and a tiny, very low opacity cryocheese icon has been placed in the bottom left corner.

Figure: 'Apollon God of Sun' sold by Kimeramodels (personal warning: challenging assembly!)

Close-up of the two connection cables of the chariots axle detail, which will be connecting the horses.

A collage of two close-up images showing each connection cable detail of the axle parts front section, which are going to connect to the galaxy horses.

These tiny segmented cylindrical surfaces are also supposed to read as shiny and reflective, which is why the brightest details painted on the nearby galaxy horses (not seen in this image) are painted as reflections on this piece.

This image shows a 45° downwards angled front view of the chariot bluetacked together at this current progress state. The two horses left and right are very colorful due to the many galaxies, nebulae and stars freehanded onto them, but also feature metallic surfaces (painted with non-metallic paints) that are either shiny brass or shiny blue-ish looking. They are connected by a centered axle detail, which shows the same colorscheme, except that the celestial theme of the horses is painted as reflections instead of being part of that detail.

Basically done with that mid section, now, after adding the red gaps and galaxy freehand reflections.

It was really fun to bluetack it together like that for this weeks update shoot! Feels good to see things come together.

A collage of three shots from different angles of this horse miniature - all three images serve to highlight the newly added osl (object source lighting) I painted onto the nmm (non metallic metal) details to make them appear as emitting a strong glowing light.

Overall the horse is painted with freehand of celestial objects as well as two different metal versions - brass and a lavender colored steel/silver.

The background of these pictures is a neutral grey, so it doesn't distract from the miniature shown.

The horse is from the box 'Apollon, God of Sun' produced and sold by Kimera Models.

Work in progress picture of the second space horse. It's sort of close-up focussed on the brass neck detail, specifically to show the blue and orange osl emitted by the nebula painted on the horses body nearby.

I'm making the galaxy freehand stuff into light sources that have an effect on the nmm. I think that connects horse and metallics nicely.

Thoughts? 😄
