For the avoidance of doubt, you don't need mechanical ventilation to meet #ArchivesAccreditn. It'll depend on your stores, approach, collections needs etc and there are plenty that do still need/use it. But goodness me it's not a negative if you've got a setup that works to safeguard collections.
If you weren't able to join the #ArchivesAccreditn launch webinar, you can see the updated standard, guidance and application form online*: www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sec...
Did a dry run of the #ArchivesAccreditn review webinar at the office today (just me instead of multiple speakers, and at double speed, just to bring colleagues up to date). So that's happening.
It's been such a long time coming I both can't wait and can't quite believe we can finally share it all.
I'm at #ARA2025 tomorrow, intending to drop into a few sessions as well as delivering one (D7, giving you a sneak peek at the updated #ArchivesAccreditn). Hope to see some of you there, and to liveblog a little bit where I can.
Watching two archive services clearly about to submit for #ArchivesAccreditn make ever smaller edits to their applications on an ever faster schedule and wondering which will win (a race that exists only in my brain, they will both get assessed this round).
If you're working on #ArchivesAccreditn today, yes the system is sort of down, no I don't know why and yes this is perfect timing with a panel meeting today. Normal service asap.
Looking forward to our annual governance committee meeting for Archive Service Accreditation #ArchivesAccreditn. It's been a long haul to get to this point, but we're really looking at taking the programme forward. Always good discussions at these meetings.
Fingers crossed hybrid tech holds up....
An excellent morning seeing new peer reviewers getting started for #ArchivesAccreditn, while last Panel's awards were announced. Onwards!
I'm just organising another round of (online) peer reviewer training for #ArchivesAccreditn. If you are interested but held back, do join us. It's interesting training, good for transferrable skills too. Details here, but feel free to email me for speed www.archives.org.uk/peer-reviewers
If anyone's wondering why Catherine Ross mentioned me, it's cos she's an #ArchivesAccreditn peer reviewer and has never had a validation site visit yet where she hasn't found a crossover between Met Office collections and the applicant. Weather gets everywhere.
ZM accidentally just pitched Date Night at the Archives, and I will absolutely send you an (expired, invalid, old and/or misprinted) #ArchivesAccreditn certificate with your name on if you try this. #ARA2024
NB this is very much that point of having a mission, which #ArchivesAccreditn is built around. Being able to articulate what you're there for is essential.
What does it mean for archives? We need to be thinking about risks to collections, to communities, and what impact we are ourselves having. Some impacts already visible in the UK, like increasing storm damage to buildings (which I've seen in #ArchivesAccreditn).
Small internal cheer (okay, huge suppressed cheer) for mention of #ArchivesAccreditn among other elements like data collection, and shared strategies within and among UK home nations as a core part of that advocacy. It's absolutely what awards like Accreditation should be about.
So tired, post-Panel. But in a good way. As always with #ArchivesAccreditn work, so grateful to all who contribute, as assessors, peer reviewers and as committee members making the decisions on awards.

Managed some #JacobinDay gorse in my #UnconfinedWalks today, en route to talk with the London Archives Partnership about #ArchivesAccreditn.
As I say, I can't believe it's 10 years of #ArchivesAccreditn this month. But it is, we're having a webinar to prove it. Come and celebrate with us, hear about different ways Accreditation is supporting services, and (I hope) participate in a fabulous quiz. 29th at 11am, do come! t.co/440YE2NACW
It has been *quite the day* today, with a long, intense panel meeting for #ArchivesAccreditn while memorial for Jo Pugh went on at Kew. Glad of both events, sorry I had to choose between them, and quite wrought by the whole thing.
Pls send comforting #JacobinDay leadworts soonest.
We are interested in views on any aspect of #ArchivesAccreditn, but specifically including four areas where there (may) have been developments since 2013: Inclusive practice
Digital preservation delivery
Sustainability and environment
Your range of audiences and their expectations
You can read about the #ArchivesAccreditn review and find a link to the survey at nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sec....
I simply can't believe it's been 10 years of #ArchivesAccreditn, but so it is. We're inviting views on the future of the programme, content, delivery etc - from individuals, archive services, organisations, with all levels of prior experience: www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/ArchiveSer...
Our second speaker at #DALE_ideas is @melindahaunton talking about the inclusion of NDSA standards in the #archivesaccreditn standard
Another day, another fascinating #archivesaccreditn visit.
Thanks, archivists of *undisclosed location*
@HantsArchives are celebrating their #archivesaccreditn this evening. @jeffddjames presented the certificate to Councillor Roy Perry
More #archivesaccreditn celebrations, today @kent_archives accept their certificate from Operations Director Paul Davies
Lovely to hear about the successes of #archivesaccreditn at peer review refresher training this afternoon, and share learning from some of the challenges. Top notch #archivecake too
I'm going to 2 #archivesaccreditn presentations tomorrow. I've lost count of the number of times I've checked my bag to make sure I've got the certificates and speeches!
On way home from #archivesaccreditn peer review visit. Love the opportunity to nose round other #archives and learn from practice elsewhere
Nothing like quoting bits of #archivesaccreditn standard at senior ICT managers to get the day off to a swing
Have spent far too much time on #archivesaccreditn ...saw this, and immediately thought 'Ooh, accreditation logo! https://t.co/eXFiiQeLgD
