Un héron cendré debout sur la berge sableuse d'un étang. Il a le cou rentré dans les épaules pour résister au froid hivernal. Il regarde vers la droite de l'image. Devant lui, deux mouettes rieuses en plumage internuptial pataugent au ras des vagues. La lumière est douce et enveloppe les animaux d'une légère teinte cuivrée. It's widely distributed across Europe, Asia, and Africa, often found by shallow water like rivers, lakes, and marshes. The Grey Heron's behaviour is characteristic: it often stands motionless on long legs, patiently ambushing fish, amphibians, or small mammals with a lightning-fast strike.
