Tiled pictures of Green Handwoven Kitchen Towels and Recycled Rag Hot Mats fom my collection with a recipe for: Irish Soda Bread (Origin unknown, an old clipping my mother had) 2 1/2 C Flour 2 tsp Baking Powder 1 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Baking Soda 1/4 C Margarine 1/2 C Sugar 1 Egg 1/12 C Buttermilk 1C Raisins 1/2 C Currants 1 TBSP Caraway Seeds Sift Dry Ingredients. Cream Butter & Sugar. Add Beaten Egg & Buttermilk. Add to dry ingredients & mix until moist. Add Raisins, Currants & Caraway Seeds. Pour into Greased Pan. Brush with Butter & sprinkle with Sugar. Bake 375F for 30 min, then 325F for 30 min. Good hot & fresh or toasted.
