Crushed that #ASECS2020 is cancelled. Been looking forward to those people, their ideas, their jokes, their company, for about 15 months. It's not collegiality; it is community.

Putting my #asecs2020 commitments into the calendar today. #DH and @18thConnect hype by day, 2 nights of game hosting TH & FR (7.30-midnight). Mostly easy to learn 18C-flavored board games, open to all & drop in as the spirit moves.
If your response to this is “gee, I sure wish you could combine D&D with an academic conference” — well, I do that too at the annual 18C conference, #asecs2020
I will of course be at #ASECS2020 & happy to talk, especially at @TheDoctorisIn8 . I’m also regularly in Atlanta, DC, and Houston.
@ASECSOffice included it in their email, so it’s official: I am organizing a game room for Thursday and Friday nights at #asecs2020! I will be running #ASECSDnD for those interested, but we will also have board games and other #TRPGS, both 18th century themed & just fun!
There’s an IMO’s Pizza two blocks from the #asecs2020 hotel. My colleagues are either puzzled, horrified, or giddy.

Thread: #ASECS2020 promises to have a ton for @ASECS_DH -- in addition to our panel on reviewing DH scholarship & our QuickStart with DH workshop, Caucus members are seeking participants on data management (panel), GIS mapping (workshop), and remediation (panel).
Seeking someone willing to chair an #asecs2020 session on libraries (or endorse someone who already has). @MeganPeiser @boulukos and I are already overbooked in such duties but really want it to happen.
