August Derleth gets quite a bit of criticisim for his Lovecraft "colaborations" and Lovecraftesque stories, but I really enjoyed this novel. Obviously not the same as a true Lovecraft story, but I really enjoyed it.

I thought I was re-reading these books which I bought in the late 80s, but now that I've finished them, I realise I had never read them until now. I particulary enjoyed the final story in The Mask of Cthulhu.

I bought this book in the late 80s, read it once & forgot about it. So, rereading it now is like reading it for the first time again. While not on the same level as Lovecrft, Derleth's stories are very good.
