Beyond the fleece: the traits woolgrowers are breeding for, and against See what traits breeders are chasing for their flocks in 2026.

The Merino has been trotting around Australian pastures fairly well since colonisation, and while the process of grow sheep, shear sheep, wear wool, has stayed the same for nigh on 250 years, more has changed than you may think. πŸ‘€

'Win-win': new tool puts the power in farmers hands for project development The RELA Assess 2.0 promises to help farmers understand their options.

Darling Downs farmer Brent Finlay puts it pretty simply: "If you talk to a farmer, they know how much a load of prime lambs or cattle are worth ... this hopefully sheds a light on what renewable energy assets could be worth to them."

At the beginning of this year, Large Language Models evolved to the point where they significantly challenge many Farm Management Systems. As efficiency is commoditised they are going to have to work hard to maintain product market fit. I reckon they have <12 months.

I like Gravatar. I think it's a simple, clever idea (they've added a lot of other stuff it doesn't need over the years). There are many other scenarios that could benefit from defaults. For example, gravatar for farm maps. Update your map once, have it update everywhere.

Really good post highlighting an example of risk most people never think about (which the companies doing it rely on). What really happens to your data and what you give away when you verify yourself on LinkedIn?
