#OnThisDay 40 yrs ago, 13 July 1985, I climbed #AyersRock (now Uluru), Australia. It's not easy - it's dangerously steep in places & that day there was a brisk wind. Climbing #Uluru is now banned. Where I was, #LiveAid didn't start until 11pm, and I was too knackered to stay up to watch it anyway.

The comic describes the definition of an invasive species, showing different species that are considered invasive such as rats running along ship ropes at ports to reach new areas, Kudzu killing the local wildlife and pushing it out, covering everything, and a rabbit in Australia (they cause millions in damages); ending with a picture of a fat guy uncaringly throwing a foam soda cup behind him on the ground at a park, joining the trash bags and other litter on the ground nearby a heavily polluted stream with a dead fish floating in it. There’s a factory in the background, the source of the pollution in the river and air, as it spews a bunch of smoke from its chimneys. The joke is when you think about it we’re sort of an invasive species. Woah, profound. (Takes out a comically large Victorian era tobacco pipe made of wood and asbestos, starts smoking from it) What if we’re the bad guys?
