Today in #LaborHistory 11/21/1831: Silk workers went on #strike in Lyon, #France. #Insurrection after #NationalGuard killed several workers. Workers captured #police barracks, stole weapons, set up #barricades & captured the town. Larger force from Paris ultimately suppressed it.
